(Cushing, Okla.) At Thursday’s Rotary meeting, Rotarian of the Day John Bryant assured fellow members that “come rain or shine, we’re rodeoin’!”
Over the years there has been one thing pretty constant at Cushing Rotary Club. When it’s Rodeo time, it must be John Bryant’s turn to be in charge of the program. Bryant quipped that after 21 years presenting a rodeo program to his fellow Rotarians, he has yet to win for ‘best program.’ “Do you think they could just give it to me for trying?” Bryant asked.
After a shake of Rotary President Mandy Floyd’s head, Bryant continued with words of praise to his committee, sponsors and the public for the success of the annual Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo. “It just wouldn’t work without our sponsors and the people of the community,” Bryant said.
Bryant said this year the numbers of entries are up – “We’re gonna have a good group!” He also said there will be more bareback riding than ever before.
Another tidbit of information Bryant passed on – two families are traveling from Europe to attend Cushing’s rodeo. “They came a couple of years ago and they wanted to come back,” Bryant said. “They’ll be there on Friday.”
Calf ropin’, bull ridin’, team ropin’ and more…the 22nd annual Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo, Friday, July 9 and Sat. with a preshow by Right Path Riding Acadamy at 7:30 p.m. For more information check out the Rodeo Page on this website and be sure to pick up a copy of this year’s rodeo publication at many fine businesses in our community!
