Doug Withiam wrote the drama and provided this description and synopsis.

“GRACE”

A modern application of the New Testament attesting to the grace provided to all by God through the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Synopsis:

The play “Grace” is not a pageant. It is not presented by actors in

elaborate costumes or period makeup, nor does it employ vivid scenery,

staging,or props. Such other presentations may result in a historical

account of the story of Christ, important and moving to the audience. Yet

God’s real message to us can easily be overshadowed by the pageantry of the

moment.

As its name implies, our play focuses on the grace that we all have been

given by God through the life, death, and resurrection of his son, Jesus.

“Grace” takes exact dialogue and scenes from the scriptures and presents

them in ways the modern world can relate to. Actors wear normal, modern

clothing, without costumes of any kind, making the presentation less of a

theatrical pageant, and allowing the audience to relate with the characters

and God’s message of grace. Actors sit among the audience waiting for their

cues, and go unnoticed because they are dressed like everyone else. They

enter into the scenes from out of the audience, to interact with Christ,

just as we still can do today. Truly, Christ is among us, even today, and

God’s grace is here for us now. The story of Christ and the grace he

exemplified is not part of our

historical past. Christ and the grace of God are ours today.
