As the George R. Smith M.D. Memorial Chapel was nearing completion, many local citizens wanted to make a donation as a tribute to Dr. Smith and the other doctors who were at the root of Cushing’s high standard of medical care.
Julia and Bradley Howser, friends of Dr. & Mrs. Smith’s son, wanted to do their part by donating something special for the chapel – a numbered Precious Moments art print. However, since the chapel was designed to be free of pictures, the print will be hung directly outside the Chapel.
Brad Howser is a retired Cushing Fire Chief and Julia is employed by Hillcrest Medical System.
A special dedication ceremony for the George R. Smith M.D. Memorial Chapel will be held at 2 p.m. at the chapel. Everyone is invited to attend.
