Local quilting guild – The Piecemakers – is selling tickets to win a beautiful queen-size orange and black quilt made by its members. The quilt can be seen at Mila’s Fabrics in downtown Cushing.

Tickets are $1 each or six (6) for $5 and can be purchased at Mila’s or from any Quilt Guild member – Connie Floyd, Anita Wright, Claudia Wilson, Helen George, Sue Adkisson, Judy Sheridan, Mila Myers, Nany Schlegel or Caroline Allison – just to name a few.  The winning ticket will be drawn the day of the Christmas Parade – Saturday, Dec. 5th.

The Piecemakers are an active group – they make lap quilts and bibs for the nursing homes as well as children’s quilts for the Cushing Police Department to give out on an “as-needed” basis.  Each year, the guild gives a scholarship to a Cushing High School senior.

Members meet at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month in the Church of Christ building located at 9th and Linwood.  Something  quilt-related is presented at each meeting and anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join them.
