The PIECEMAKERS Quilt Guild of Cushing announces their “first ever” Cookbook which will be arriving sometime after January 1st.
Advance orders can be given to any quilt guild member or to Connie Floyd, President – 918-223-6062 or Carolyn Allison, Cookbook Chairman – 918-306-0480 (please leave a message if no answer.)
Orders can also be mailed to Piecemakers, % Carolyn Allison, P. O. Box 1226, Cushing, Oklahoma 74023. Deadline for advanced orders will be Nov. 1st, 2010.
Books are selling for $10 each and consist of approximately 300 favorite recipes of each member of the Piecemakers. (Checks to be made payable to Piecemakers of Cushing.)
Proceeds go toward purchasing supplies for various quilt projects and to help sponsor educational speakers for the organization and beginner quilter’s workshops.
Piecemaker’s projects consist of making baby quilts donated to the Cushing Regional Hospital, bibs and lap quilts for the local nursing homes and Hospice. Also, quilts have been donated to Jewels for Life, the Cushing Police Department, Love Inc., Headstart, and a donation quilt made annually for the Breast Cancer Awareness Auction.
The Piecemakers of Cushing was formed to stimulate an interest in quilts, promote the art of quilt making and to conduct educational programs and services in the techniques of quilt making and quilt preservation. They meet the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 9th & Linwood, Cushing. Anyone, male or female, interested in quilting is invited to join the group.
