(Cushing, Okla) According to Cushing Fire Department Chief Chris Pixler, three firefighters (one from Cushing and two from Ripley) were injured at a petroleum fire early Saturday morning.  The fire started at 12:12 a.m. south of Dunkin Road on Pawnee Road, with a total of seven different fire departments responding.  Cushing sent four units to the scene – one engine, one tank and two command units.

Chief Pixler said the firefighters were injured when a burning electrical pole and cross member fell on them.  Fortunately, the injured Cushing firefighter was able to return to work on Monday.  Ripley Fire Department could not be reached to find out the condition of the other two.
