(Stillwater, Okla.) — Two Perkins men with criminal records, one of whom was recently sentenced to prison on drug convictions, have been charged with breaking into a car in the McDonald’s parking lot on Highway 33 in Perkins.

Ricky Lee Alexander, 33, remains held in the Payne County Jail on $10,000 bail pending a July 6 court appearance on a second-degree burglary charge.

Alexander had been given two concurrent two-year prison terms on May 22 for marijuana possession in Perkins three months ago and marijuana delivery in Stillwater two years ago, court records show.

Last week, an arrest warrant was issued for Alexander’s associate, Steven Charles Geraldon, 26, in the car burglary on April 6 that occurred ten days after Geraldon was placed on three years’ probation for shoplifting $1,883 worth of electronic merchandise in Stillwater in January; Geraldon was already on 10 years’ probation for methamphetamine possession in Oklahoma County last year, court records show.

Perkins Deputy Police Chief Steve Hensley wrote in an affidavit filed last week with the car burglary charges against Alexander and Geraldon that he was called to the McDonald’s parking lot on April 6.

The victim “told me she arrived at work at approximately 8 a.m. and when she came out at 2:15 pm. she found her window busted out,” the Perkins deputy police chief wrote in his affidavit.

The victim said that “her two 10-inch pioneer speakers and a 650 watt Alpine amplifier were taken from her trunk,” the affidavit said. She said “they tried to take her stereo, but were unsuccessful,” the affidavit said.

The car burglary was recorded on McDonald’s surveillance video between 12:05 p.m. and 12:12 p.m., which the deputy chief observed, the affidavit said.

After the deputy chief returned to the police station, he received a call from a relative of Geraldon, who said that Geraldon admitted breaking into the victim’s car and stealing her speaker, the affidavit alleged.

The relative said “Steven (Geraldon) is strung out on drugs and he is on his way somewhere near Choctaw, Oklahoma, to sell or trade the speakers for drugs,” the affidavit alleged.

Later that night, Alexander was arrested by Perkins Police Officer George Hannon on a city warrant and interviewed about the car burglary at McDonald’s, the affidavit said.

Alexander said that Geraldon told him the car owner wanted him to trade her car audio system for drugs, the affidavit alleged. Alexander said he agreed to give Geraldon a ride to McDonald’s, the affidavit alleged.

Court records show that the car owner was not charged with any crime, but was listed as the victim of the car burglary.
