(Stillwater, Okla) — The Payne County Leadership Connections class got underway yesterday starting with a short bus ride at noon to the Oklahoma State University Botanical Gardens. Once at the Gardens, students and instructor Suzette Barta enjoyed a boxed lunch from Red Rock Bakery (Stillwater). Following the lunch the class toured the Garden and learned about different types of trees, grass, flowers and other plants including a Banana tree.
Next the class went to Food & Agricultural Product Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University. At the FAPC the tour looked over the Oklahoma Made Products in the lobby. These items were showcased for the public to see. This was followed by a tour of the meat processing area along with the bakery, cooking and testing areas of the building.
Finishing out the tour or class for yesterday a stop at Gallagher Iba Arena and Boone Pickens Stadium.
