(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A fatality collision occurred on Friday, September 4th (2015) at approximately 10:55 (am) on SH33 atSH18 South which is located 5 miles west of Cushing city limits, in Payne County.
Megan A. Hall (36) of Oklahoma City was driving a 2011 Chrysler 200, northbound on SH18 and had stopped at a stop sign to turn west onto SH33. She then initiated a left turn, but failed to yield to James L. Alred (45) of Stillwater. Alred who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was going eastbound on SH33 at the time and did attempt evasive action but still struck the Chrysler 200.
Hall was transported by Cushing ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, where she was treated and released her passenger Robert J. Ward (82) of Guthrie was transported by Cushing ambulance to Hillcrest Hospital (Cushing) and was pronounced dead. Alred was not injured.
Seat-belts were in use by all parties in both vehicles.
