(Maramec, Okla.) Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported an accident yesterday at approximately 4:04 (p.m.). The accident happened on County Road 3600 and County Road 5200 (1 mile West and 2.2 miles North of Maramec) in Pawnee County. Apparently the 2006 Ford driven by Paul Wayne Watson (49) of Maramec failed to yield to a Freight Train.
Watson was eastbound on County Road 5200 when he failed to yield to the northbound train. His 2006 Ford was struck in the passenger front and redirected off the roadway to the left rolling one half time. The vehicle then came to rest on its top with Watson being partially ejected through the passenger window and pinned underneath the vehicle for about 2 hours (according to OHP reports).
Watson died at the scene due to massive injuries. His passengers Terri Watson (49) and a juvenile female (both of Meramac) were both taken to area hospitals. Both of them received treatment and one of them was later released. The other passenger remains hospitalized at this time in stable condition.
Seat-belts were equipped and were being used by the passengers in the Ford. The drivers seat-belt in the Ford was not in use.
