Patricia Ann (Mullins) Collier, a longtime Cushing and Drumright area resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 8, 2011 at her home east of Cushing at the age of 53 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing, OK. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
The daughter of Demoy Evrett Mullins and Minnie Pearl “Bill” (Floyd) Mullins, Patricia was born on December 14, 1957 in South Gate, CA. In January of 1958 the family moved to Sasakwa, OK. She was reared in Sasakwa and graduated from Konawa High School with the class of 1976.
Patricia was united in marriage to Shawn Collier on October 30, 1982 in Cushing, OK. They made their home in Drumright before moving to Cushing in 1992. In 2004 Patricia and Shawn purchased a home east of Cushing where they have lived until her death. Patricia was well known to have a green thumb and that she could nurse any plant back to life with her special touch. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Shawn of the home; six children, Trenda Lea Cates and her husband Jerry of Sacramento, CA, Caleb Ray Collier of Cushing, Levi Dylan Collier and his wife Robin of Cushing, Danielle Elaine Collier of Cushing, Robert Edward Collier of Camp Lejeune, NC, and Timothy Alan Collier of Cushing; mother, Minnie Pearl “Bill” Mullins of Guthrie; three brothers, Michael Mullins of Prescott, AR, Phillip Mullins of Konawa, OK, and Martin Mullins of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren, Shaun Douglas Cates, Dylan Ray Cates, Keenan Isaiah Anthony Cates, Zhy`ere Johna Marie Cates, Keegan Paul Collier, and Ivan Mitchell Collier; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Demoy, and one sister, Pamela Kay Borel.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, c/o Oak Grove School Team, 8409 East 9th Street, Cushing, OK 74023 in Patricia’s name.
