The Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus will resume normal hours Thursday. All transit services will resume regular schedules. The campus closed early Monday and was closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to icy weather.

“We never want to close the university, but the safety of students and employees is our primary concern,” said OSU President Burns Hargis. “I want to commend our physical plant employees who have worked tireless hours in frigid weather to prepare campus streets and sidewalks for traffic. We also appreciate the efforts of other employees who provide essential services when the campus is closed.”

Students and employees are advised to continue to use extreme caution when traveling and while walking on campus; icy patches can still be hazardous.

The scheduled construction on University Avenue, which will close the street from Monroe to Knoblock, has been delayed due to weather but is expected to begin on Thursday. Please make alternate driving plans.

The ice has thawed on the tower crane being used for the new Interdisciplinary Science Research Building on Monroe. The area around the crane is scheduled to re-open to pedestrian and vehicular traffic at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Activities for the College of Human Environmental Sciences’ Distinguished Chef Series have already begun and the Chef Series reception and dinner is on schedule for Thursday night at Taylor’s Dining Room.
