STILLWATER — An Oklahoma State University student accused of distributing child sexual abuse material through Snapchat has been ordered to appear in court on March 2 at which time he can seek a preliminary hearing on the felony charge punishable by up to 20 years in prison on conviction.
Harpreet Singh, 28, of Stillwater, was freed on $250,000 bond with an order that he have no contact with anyone under 18, court records show.
OSU Police Investigator Kyle McCool, a member of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, received a CyberTip on Oct. 20, 2025, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding “uploaded/shared apparent child sexual abuse material,” his affidavit said.
“I submitted search warrants to Google and Snapchat via their online portals. I received an email from SnapChat Inc on 11/5/25 informing me the requested information pertaining to the search warrant was available for download. The Display Name provided is ‘Harpreet Singh.’
“I received an email from Google Inc on 11/4/25 informing me the requested information pertaining to the search warrant was available for download. The phone number listed to recover the account returns to Harpreet Singh,” the OSU investigator alleged in his affidavit filed in January.
