Central Tech’s annual open house is Sunday, February 16 from 1-4pm on both the
Drumright and Sapulpa campuses. Attractions continue to focus on the high-level of
learning and technology used by students.
Do you like cars? Both campuses have a car show that is sure to please. Classic and
custom cars will pack the house in Drumright, while Corvettes will blaze a trail to the
Sapulpa campus. Prefer two-wheels to four? Powersports Technology in Drumright will
have a special Harley Davidson motorcycle display. Want to see yourself behind the
wheel of a “big rig?” Come by the Diesel class and get an inside look at semi trucks like
the ones used to transport goods all over the nation.
Come by the FREE Health Fair for a cardiac risk assessment for American Heart Month. In
Drumright and Sapulpa, stop by the health and medical areas to check your vital signs,
height, weight, body fat index, check the oxygen levels in your lungs, check your blood
pressure, glucose levels, get a vision screening, and learn about proper hand washing
techniques, as well as other areas of the medical field. (Not all screenings at both
locations.)
Are computers your interest? Many of our classes on both campuses offer computer
activities. In Drumright, finding the meaning of your name in Business and Information
Technology, altering your digital photo in Graphic Design, developing a video game in
Interactive Multimedia, and playing a special version of Angry Birds in Network Security
& Administration is sure to satisfy you computer interest. See the Network Security &
Administration class in Sapulpa working on projects like Rasberry Pi – a small device that
makes anything a computer.
If you’re interested in areas like construction, electrical or welding make sure you tour
the shops. Interested in how things are built or designed? Come by the Design Drafting
classroom to see blueprints, design a room using state-of-the-art software and see a 3D
printer in action.
Do you like science, math and engineering? Be sure to come by the Oklahoma School of
Science and Mathematics and Pre-Engineering classrooms in Drumright. Electrify yourself
on the Van deGraph and see robots that the Pre-Engineering class builds to compete
with.
Have you thought about working in the medical field? Tour the Surgical Technology
classroom in Drumright and try your hand at laparoscopic surgery on the simulator. Stop
by the Biomedical Sciences classroom to learn about DNA by viewing DNA models and
then extracting DNA from a strawberry.
Interested in the field of law enforcement? Stop by our Criminal Justice classroom to see
a SOT Assault exhibit, and then try to lift fingerprints.
Check out a fire truck, police car, ambulance and helicopter. Emergency vehicles will be
on both campuses. In Drumright, come by the Farm Bureau Kids Fire Safety trailer to
learn how to safely evacuate during a fire.
Be sure to stop by the Business and Industry Services (BIS) booth in Sapulpa to learn
about safety training available and more. In Drumright, come by the Pipeline and Safety
Training Center, the only one of its kind in the state, see a model pipeline system, and
learn about SCADA security and polyfusion.
Fun for the whole family, the Adult Career Development photography class will be taking
children career pictures, have the little one dress up in the career of their dreams and
get a photo taken.
Bring your family, and bring your appetite. On the Drumright campus make sure to stop
by the food vendors or pick up free popcorn and cookies. At Sapulpa make sure to pick
up a free hamburger or hotdog to go with free popcorn and cotton candy.
Nearly every area of the school will be packed with activities or demonstrations – more
than 70 things to do and see. Have fun on the inflatables, rock wall and mechanical bull
