(Cushing, Okla.) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that there was a traffic accident on Saturday, February 14 (2015) at approximately 11:08 (am). The accident occurred on Fairgrounds Road just north of McElroy Road in Payne County.
Martina Hillan (19) of Oilton, Oklahoma was driving a 2003 Ford Southbound on Fairgrounds when she became distracted by her cell phone and exited the roadway to the right. Hillan’s vehicle then went into a broadside and collided with the ditch, rolling 1 1/2 times prior to coming to rest on its top.
Hillan was transported by Lifenet EMS to the Stillwater Airport, and then by Eagle Med to O.U. Medical Center (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) where she was admitted in serious condition with a head and trunk internal injuries.
OHP has reported the cause of the accident due to inattentive driving.
Seat-belts were not in use and airbags did not deploy.
