(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.

A collision occurred on June 15th (2015) at 3:09 (pm) on US 64 AT CR 170 (1/2 of a mile east of Morrison) in Noble County.

Lance Jones (28) of Stroud was driving a 2013 Chevrolet ¾ Ton Pickup eastbound on US 64 when he encountered Johnny Davis (32) of Pawnee. Davis was riding a horse on the shoulder of US 64 when the horse jumped into the path of Jones Chevy Pickup allowing the truck to strike the horse with the front driver’s side. The horse came to rest on the north shoulder and Davis, who was riding the horse, came to rest in the middle of the road.

Jones was not injured in the accident. Davis was airlifted by Eagle-Med to OU Medical-Presbyterian in Oklahoma, City where he was admitted in stable condition with head, arm, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

No information is available at this time on whether or not the horse was injured.

The DPS report shows the cause of the collision to be pedestrian action.
