(Cushing, Okla) – One house was destroyed and another damaged significantly when a fire broke out about noon in the 500 Block of East Maple in Cushing on Friday.
Firefighters arrived to find one house completely involved and the house immediately west beginning to catch fire. High winds made the task of containing the blaze even more difficult.
Unofficial reports indicate the fire may have started in a travel trailer in a driveway between to two houses. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
Cushing Emergency Management Director Bob Noltensmeyer told KUSH that the Red Cross had been called in to assist the family living in one of the homes.
Both homes were occupied.
No injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
