(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.

A personal injury collision occurred on Friday, May 29th (2015) at 5:02 (pm) on State Highway 33 at the intersection of 433rd West Avenue in Creek County.

Daniel Spinuzzi (19) of Beaumont (California) was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry eastbound on SH33 and had slowed to turn northbound on 433rd West Avenue when he turned into the path of Sara James (38) of Drumright. James was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger.

Spinuzzi’s  Toyota Camry was struck on the passenger side and his passenger Linda Connor (70) of Drumright was pinned for about 24 minutes before being freed by the Olive Fire Department.

Spinuzzi refused treatment at the scene for arm injuries. Connor was transported by Creek County EMS to St. John (Tulsa) where she was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries. James refused treatment at the scene for trunk internal and leg injuries.

The DPS report shows the cause of the collision to be improper turn in front of oncoming traffic.

Seat-belts were in use.
