Ollie Mae Flynt, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, June 19,

2014 at the Linwood Nursing Home, Cushing at the age of 86.  Funeral services will be

held at 10:00 a.m., Monday June 23, 2014 at the Church of Christ (9th and Linwood).

Interment will follow at Kendrick Cemetery, Kendrick, Oklahoma. 

Arrangments are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.

Ollie Mae was born on February 15, 1928 in Kendrick, Oklahoma to the late Finnie and

Nellie (Krause) Casey.  She grew up in Kendrick, graduating from Kendrick High

School in 1946. Ollie Mae married the love of her life James Isacc Flynt in Chandler,

to this union Kathy, Janet and Connie were born.  They made their home in Kendrick

until 1969, when James started traveling with his job in the oilfield.  They lived

in Thomas, Woodward, Canton, and Weatherford before moving back to Cushing upon

retirement.  They were members of the Church of Christ, where they volunteered at

the Food Bank for many years, also attended Ladies Bible Study on Tuesday mornings,

helping serve funeral meals. Ollie Mae took great pride in being a very good mother

and wife.  She was an immaculant housekeeper.  She was very hospitable and the best

cook ever.  Ollie Mae made everyone welcome and would fix their favorite dishes.

They enjoyed traveling, some of the highlights were their visit to California

to see her brother and their trip to the Smokey Mountains.

Ollie Mae is survived by her husband of 66 years James Flynt of the home, daughters

Kathy Starks and husband Mike of Cushing, Janet Flynt of Cushing, Connie

Pritchard and husband Gregg of Decatur, Alabama, grandchildren Kim Bowman and

husband Doug, Amy Fields and husband Tony, Shauna Jones and husband Brian,

Jason Starks, Jonathan Pritchard and wife Amber, Jessica Pritchard, David Pritchard,

great grandchildren Kyle and Marissa Bales, Gavin and Harper Jones, Baylee and Braden

Fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Buster Casey, Gertie

Burton, Roy Casey, Myrtle Coleman and Troy Casey.
