Members of OHP Troop O are en route to Mayes County with a helicopter and plane to assist in the search of Wesley Still Smoking.   OHP issued a Silver Alert for Still Smoking, 75, on October 17 after he was reported missing from McCloud.

On October 29, the Mayes County Sheriff’s Department was advised that Still Smoking was captured on a trail camera in their county on October 12th.   Mayes County officials have conducted a thorough ground and air search in the area but have been unable to find Still Smoking.

DPS Commissioner, Rusty Rhoades, heard the family’s plea for help and decided to utilize OHP resources to assist.   The OHP will be using a Cessna 182 Skylane and a Bell OH-58 Kiowa Helicopter equipped with a FLIR (forward-looking infrared) imaging system.  Both of these aircraft are operated by OHP pilots based out of Grove, Oklahoma.

Pilots will fly routes between McCloud and Mayes County to search for any signs of Still Smoking.
