(OKLAHOMA CITY) The OHP Honor Guard will be posting the colors at the Bridge Creek High School football field prior to Friday’s (Sept. 11) football game. The ceremony, honoring late Trooper Nicholas Dees, will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. prior to the game with Lexington.

Dees, a 2003 Bridge Creek graduate, was a football player and weightlifter in high school. He was killed Jan. 31 while investigating a truck accident on Interstate 40 near Shawnee. He had served with OHP for about 18 months and was the son of a retired trooper. He is survived by his wife and two children.

A second Trooper, Keith Burch, was seriously injured in the incident.
