Nova Nadine Meyers, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Tulsa at the age of 79 years.
The daughter of the late Edward Giddeon and Ida Young Giddeon, Nova was born on November 7, 1934 in Drumright, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in the Drumright and Schlegel area, graduating from Drumright High School.
Nova was united in marriage to William “Bill” Meyers on August 4, 1951 in Cushing and to this union three children, Michael, Jeffrey and Bradley, were born. Bill preceded her in death on July 22, 2004.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting and doing for others. She and Bill had owned and operated Woodland Village Trailer Park, west of Cushing for 10 years; M&M Medical Supply Rentals prior to selling to Baker Pharmacy in 1995 and Nova’s Poodle Parlor for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Meyers and his wife, Debbie, of Agra, Jeffrey Meyers of Fairview and Bradley Meyers of Cushing; two grandchildren, Billy and Martha; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewey Giddeon of Stillwater; one sister, Evelyn Birdsong of Baker City, Oregon and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nova was preceded in death by one grandson, Jorge; one daughter-in-law, Sharla and seven brothers and sisters.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center.
