(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
January 30th (2019) at approximately 8:18 am a non-injury school bus collision occurred on 136th Street North and 129th East Avenue, approximately 20 feet west of Collinsville, OK in Tulsa County.
Thomas Redding (66) of Collinsville was driving a 2013 International school bus (Collinsville Public Schools) while Jenna Nichols (31) of Collinsville was driving a 2003 Honda Civic. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on 136th street north, when for unknown reasons the bus backed up and struck the 2003 Honda Civic.
Redding was not injured, nor was any of his passengers (50 students ranging in age from 5 to 10 years). It was also reported that Nichols was not injured.
According to the DPS report the cause of the collision was illegal backing.
