(Cushing, Okla.) Cushing Commissioner Terry Brannon shared some good news today by reporting on the installation of new park equipment at Northwest Park, located near the Allied Waste Transfer Center.
“This will be a great addition to a park that serves many kids in that neighborhood,” Brannon said. “Hat’s off to Ronnie Smith and members of the Park’s Department team. They could have waited for better weather, but they are out doing what they do best – serve.”
Brannon also noted more park improvements are in the works at Memorial Park and a new park set to be created in the Maywood Addition just north of the old Pizza Hut on Highland.”This, too, will be another great addition in a neighborhood that is some distance from a park,” he continued. The nearest park for many of those children would be Kemp Park, which would require them to cross Main Street to get to Kemp Park, located on Oak Street.
The creation of a park in the Maywood Addition is something former commissioner Jim Hogrefe pushed for while in office.
