Folks were invited to meet the latest addition to Cushing Regional Hospital staff Friday, at a reception held for their new CEO Randy DuBois.
DuBois (pronounced du-boyce, not du-bwah) and his wife Connie are looking forward to making Cushing their home.
“We’ve got a purchase agreement on a home here,” DuBois said, “we’re just waiting for our house in Tulsa to sell.”
(According to DuBois, his wife had intended coming to the “meet and greet” but at the last minute received a call to show the house.)
Although Tulsa is currently their home, small town life is no stranger to either of the DuBois – they both hail from Grove, Okla.
“We like small communities,” he said. “I was the third generation of DuBois in Grove.” He also admitted that he, like many young people, moved away after college “to the big city.”
“I lived in Oklahoma City for 11 years before moving back to Grove,” he said. Being the youngest of the three siblings, DuBois made the move to help take care of his aging parents.
A soft-spoken man, DuBois appeared relaxed and friendly as he took time to shake hands and speak with those welcoming him to town. And while his demeanor may differ from the exhuberant Cackler, the vision for CRH remains the same.
“Ron was a good friend of mine,” DuBois said with emotion. “I worked closely with him and knew his vision. He did it right.”
*Editor’s note: DuBois succeeds Ron Cackler, former CEO of CRH, who died suddenly last December.
