Nathaniel Ray Becenti, a Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at his residence at the age of 37.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the First Indian Baptist Mission, Cushing, OK. Burial will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
Nathaniel was born for Black Streak Woods People Clan, Honey Comb Rock People Clan, and Tangle Clan People on March 31, 1977 to Hugh Smith Jr. and Agatha Tsosie in Shawnee, OK.He grew up in Cushing, New Mexico and Arizona, moving back to Cushing where he attended school.
Nathaniel was self employed in the United Armstrong Relocation of Broken Arrow. He was a member of the Dine’ Nation. He was all about good times, working hard and playing hard was also known as a friendly fun guy, (wayyy)!!!
Survivors include his sons, Nathaniel Ray Becenti II of Gallup, N.M., and Zander Ray Becenti of Cushing; daughter, Dine Nizhoni Becenti of Gallup, N.M.; brothers, Shawn Smith of Tempe, AZ., Lorezo Poncho Becenti of Albuquerque, N.M., Donovan Roy Gomez of Cushing, sisters, Shawna Gail Smith of Albuquerque, N.M. and Fernina Gomez of Albuquerque, N.M.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents Margaret Barker and Everett Barker.
