The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A multiple fatality collision involving four different vehicles, occurred Sunday, March 15, 2015, at approximately 06:25 pm on US 177 and SH 105 in Lincoln County.
A Stillwater resident, whose name is being withheld due to age, was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 northbound on US 177 when the vehicle departed the roadway going to the right. The driver then overcorrected going to the left of center and struck Steven Franetovich, age 49 of Shawnee. Franetovich was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson. The Harley was hit in the front passenger quarter panel, ejecting Franetovich approximately 70 feet from the area of impact. A third vehicle, a 2005 Harley Davidson, driven/ridden by Clayton Franetovich age 20 of Shawnee, then struck the Chrysler in the passenger rear quarter panel, ejecting the driver of the third vehicle (the 2005 Harley Davidson) approximately 20 feet from the area of impact. A fourth vehicle, a 2005 Honda Shadow driven/ridden by Brian Bacon age 36 of Shawnee, was “laid down” in an attempt to avoid hitting the Chrysler, departing the roadway right.
The Stillwater resident was not injured in the accident, however, a passenger in the car, (information withheld due to age) was transported by Chandler EMSA to Stillwater Medical Center where they were treated and released. Steven Franetovich, Clayton Franetovich and Brian Bacon expired at the scene.
The collision was reported to be caused by a vehicle going left of center.
