The Cushing Police Department advises you to AVOID Little Avenue in and around the Cushing Middle School due to street paving tomorrow afternoon (Thursday, Aug. 27th) once school has been dismissed.
Beginning tomorrow, paving contractors for the city will begin paving Little Avenue, which WILL IMPACT traffic flow in and around the Cushing Middle School. As an alternative, parents are encouraged to enter the middle school area by using Steele Street, beginning at Moses Street. Vehicle flow will be directed north on Steele Street to Oak Street, and then west on Oak Street to Noble Street. Cushing police officers will be assigned to the area to keep the flow of vehicle traffic moving to avoid significant congestion. The normal school bus exchange WILL NOT be affected.
There will be a staging area along the north curb of Oak Street where parents can pick up their child after school. Teachers from the middle school will also be present to assist children needing to be picked up. Parents are encouraged to have their child assemble on Oak Street to lessen the opportunity for even more congestion.
