Mitchell Kent Maynard, a lifelong resident of Cushing, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at his home at the age of 70.
Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing Oklahoma, and will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at Flynn Cemetery, Agra, Oklahoma.
Mitchell was born February 19, 1944, in Cushing, OK, to the late Ernest Lee and Francis Clyde (Davis) Maynard. He was born and raised in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1964. Mitchell joined the United States Army in 1966 and served until 1972, after the Army, he when back to School at OSU tech in 1970.
He worked many different jobs over the years, finally retiring from the City of Cushing, Mitchell enjoyed many different hobbies, fishing, watching old movies, reading books, but most of all he loved to gamble, and calling Elizabeth to brag on how much he would win. He was a cancer survivor in 2009.
Mitchell is survived by his daughter: Elizabeth Kleine and husband Kevin of Houston TX, two brothers: Darrell Maynard and wife Rosalee of Cushing, Lyle Maynard of Meeker, one sister: Treva Grisson of Stillwater, one grandchild: C’Anne Riden of Houston Tx.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Keith Maynard
