(Cushing) – Cushing Police continue the investigation into the discovery of what is believed to be working meth labs in Cushing. Police Chief Terry Brannon released a statement about the investigation Friday morning.
On January 28, 2009, Cushing police officers discovered a working meth lab at a residence in the 100 blk S. Hough Street. Cushing police, along with members of the hazardous materials team from the Cushing Fire Department, collected evidence and removed hazardous chemicals from the residence. The evidence and hazardous chemicals were later taken by Cushing police to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation in Edmond, Oklahoma. At this time, no arrests have been made in this case, which is still ongoing.
On February 2, 2009, Cushing police officers discovered a partial meth lab at a residence in the 800 blk E. Moses Street. Cushing police officers, along with members of the hazardous materials team from the Cushing Fire Department, collected evidence and removed hazardous chemicals from the residence. The collected evidence and hazardous chemicals were taken by members of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, who came to Cushing after the crimes discovery. One person was taken into custody and later released. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
