(Cushing, Okla.) Ten-year-old Abigail (Abby) Jones thinks it would be “good to be queen” and has set her sight on becoming the 2012 Cushing PRCA Rode Queen.
Abby is the daughter of Brian and Dana Jones and the little sister of Brian, Jr. The first few years of school she attended Oak Grove School, but her fourth grade year was spent being educated via an online school OVCA (Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy). She will continue her homeschooling this year as she goes into 5th grade. An extended stay in California led Abby and her family to the OVCA and homeschooling.
In an interview on the Donna & Molly Show, Abby talked about a special memory she made during her time in California. “I got to go on a horseback ride that went right by the Hollywood sign,” she said. “It was cool.”
Abby has been riding horses for four years and is a member of the Drumright Round-Up Club where she competes in Barrels, Flags and Poles. Other than her love of riding horses, She enjoys making crafts, playing with her dogs and swimming. And someday, Abby would like to become a veternarian and take care of large and small animals.
