(Oklahoma City, Okla.) – As Oklahoma students in third through eighth grade prepare to start standardized testing in April, local McDonald’s® of Oklahoma restaurants are preparing to serve them a free breakfast.
“It’s our pleasure to offer a wholesome meal to Oklahoma students to help them prepare for their state testing,” said Greg LaPat, Oklahoma McDonald’s franchisee and owner/operator. “We want our students in Oklahoma to be as successful as possible and that is tough to do on an empty stomach.”
Students between third and eighth grade taking standardized test can stop by any McDonald’s in the state on April 11th to receive a free breakfast from 6a.m. to 9 a.m. We recommend students be accompanied by a parent or guardian and go into the restaurant to receive the breakfast.
Students will receive the following breakfast items: an Egg McMuffin, choice of apple slices or Strawberry Go-Gurt as well as one of the following beverages: apple juice, one percent low fat milk, or fat free chocolate milk.
According to data from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation, almost 50 percent of U.S. children are not eating breakfast every day. Research shows that children who eat breakfast show improvements on math, reading and standardized test scores.
