Graveside Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held on June 3, 2014 at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
Maxine was born July 29, 1929 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Lee and Ella (Butler) Baker. Maxine grew-up and raised her family in the Cushing area. She pursued a career in nursing and loved being around family and friends, spending time talking and teaching about her Tribal Heritage.
One of the most important things in Maxine’s life was teaching and preserving her Sac & Fox Tribal language and heritage. She was one of a few left who know the language and enjoyed taking the time to teach others.
Maxine is survived by her son Roy Cobb and wife Sandra of Cushing, two daughters Connie Cobb of Drumright, and Lana Barnes and husband Billy of Bartlesville, one sister Christine Williamson of Cushing, three grand children Trinity Cobb, Bryce Bailey, Brady Barnes, two great grandchildren Regan and Olen Barnes.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband Olen Cobb, her parents and 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
