Matt Erwin Schad, age 25 and Jennifer Ann Schad, age 26 both of Perkins formerly of Cushing, passed away Friday evening after a tragic accident.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing.  Rev. Mike Murray will officiate.  Interment will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Matt was born on July 9, 1986 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Greg and Wanda (Hammock) Schad.  He grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 2004.  Matt received his associate’s degree in Oilfield Gas Compression from Okmulgee Technology.  Matt currently worked for Scissortale Energy as an Oilfield Gas Compression Mechanic since 2009.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Jennifer was born on November 23, 1985 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Ronald and Pamela (Smith) Gilmore.  She grew up in Coweta and Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 2004.  She was a homemaker.  Jennifer enjoyed tanning, exercising and shopping.

Matt and Jennifer were high school sweethearts.  They married on December 4, 2008 in Branson, Missouri.  They were inseparable.  They welcomed their daughter Piper into their lives on April 13, 2009.  They loved taking care of one another, especially being great parents to Piper.  They also enjoyed being around all of their family and friends.

They are survived by their daughter Piper Schad, their parents Ronald and Pamela Gilmore of Alva, and Wanda Schad of Cushing, brothers and sisters, Mike Gilmore and wife Brenda of Muskogee, Andrea Gilmore of Perkins and finance’ Landon Carr of Perkins, Tammy Saunders and husband Kris of Broken Arrow, Jim Schad of Oklahoma City, Jennifer Fischer and husband Jake of Justin, Tx., grandparents C.L. and Mary Jane Smith of Broken Arrow, Ok.,  Mary Evelyn Gilmore of Coweta, nieces and nephews Zoey and Emma, Kelsey, Adam, Kenny, Jessica, Brookelyn, Oliver and Eloise, and numerous other relatives and friends.

They are preceded in death by Matt’s father- Greg Schad, grandparents Harry and Frances Schad, R.G. and Pauline Hammock.

Memorials may be made to the Bank of Cushing in Piper Schad’s name.
