(Cushing, Okla.) Master Police Officer Bill McCarty was recently presented the Medal of Valor from the Cushing Police Department. McCarty was honored for his “quick and decisive” actions during an incident in Feb. 2011 with an individual who had a “known history of assaulting law enforcement.”
According to the McCarty family, the honor came as quite a surprise.
“We are very proud of him,” his daughter Miranda McCarty said
“Officer McCarty’s performance of duty brings credit to the City of Cushing and the Cushing Police Department,” the presentation letter read.
