Margie E. Epperson, age 75 of Crescent formerly of Cushing, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2008 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2008 at the Ingall’s Cemetery. Pastor Vern Epperson will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Margie was born on July 8, 1933 in Lakin, Kansas to the late Glen and Ruby (Cox) Davison. She grew up in Lakin, Ks and attended Lakin schools. Margie married Walter Epperson on August 29, 1948 in Sherman, Texas. They lived in Kansas because of his natural gas business and later in Illinois. Mr. Epperson passed away in 1984. She moved back to Kansas to take care of her father. While in Kansas, she owned several mobil homes and rented those in various mobile home parks.
After the death of her father, she moved to Cushing in 1995 and moved her mobile homes to the Garden of Eden. She lived in Cushing for ten years. Due to failing health, she moved to Crescent to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Margie moved to the Golden Oaks Nursing Home in 2006. She was a member of the Shepherd Walk Church in Guthrie, Margie enjoyed playing bingo, dominoes, eating candy and crushed ice.
Survivors include her sons Arthur Epperson and wife Lisa of Crescent, Terry Epperson and wife Sharon of Kendall, Ks., daughter Karen Howard and husband David of Drumright, brother Ernie Davison and wife Vinita of Kansas City, MO, sisters Ethel May Adams and husband Roy of Guthrie, Nadine Rich and husband Bill of Colorado Spring, Co., fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Epperson.
