Margaret Louise Myers, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Edmond at the age of 89.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Cushing.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Louise was born on September 23, 1924 in Pryor, Oklahoma to the late Owen Grant and Thelma Bernice (Qualls) Fields.  She grew up on a farm near Pryor.  Louise attended a one room country school -Bryan Chapel – outside of Pryor.  She graduated from Salina High School in 1942.  After graduation, she moved to Boulder City, Nevada where she worked as a secretary for the Boulder Dam which is now the Hoover Dam.  While in Boulder City she met the love of her life George E. Myers.  They were married on August 15, 1947 in Boulder City, Nevada.  They moved back to Pryor then Vinita and eventually to Cushing in 1960.

They were members of the First United Methodist Church.  She was active in the United Methodist Women and the Wesley Sunday School Class.  Louise was very devoted to reading her bible and devotions twice a day.  She also enjoyed cross word puzzles, cryptoquotes and watching Wheel of Fortune.  Louise also loved spending time with her family.

Louise is survived by her daughter Margaret (Myers) Dixon and husband Bryan of Edmond, two grandchildren Emily M. Dixon of Norman and Bryan C. Dixon, Jr. of Norman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George E. Myers, son George E. Myers, Jr.
