(Stillwater, Okla.) — The stabbing of a man in the back of his head with a screwdriver at a Stillwater party in the 200 block of S. Lewis Street about 2 a.m. Sunday remained under investigation by Stillwater police today, a news release said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to the Stillwater Medical Center before being transferred to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he underwent treatment, testing and observation before being released, a police news release said.
Three Tulsans who had fled the scene as police arrived at the party were subsequently arrested, Stillwater Police Captain Kyle Gibbs said in a news release Monday. None of the suspects had been formally charged by the District Attorney’s Office this morning.
Jailed was Almatene Long, 35, on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary, attempting to elude officers and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, the news release said.
Long was allegedly driving a vehicle that struck two parked vehicles and ran a red light at Third and Main Street while traveling west at a high rate of speed before colliding with a police car, the news release said.
Her passenger, I’Eisha Perkins, 21, was arrested for first-degree burglary, the news release said.
A third suspect, Antawan Green, 20, who fled the scene on foot, was arrested for first-degree burglary and public intoxication, the news release said.
A preliminary investigation indicated that several uninvited individuals arrived at the party, were asked to leave, and then removed by the residents, the news release said.
“According to witnesses, several of the individuals that had been removed earlier returned and forced their way back into the party by breaking open the front door of the residence,” the news release said.
“An altercation took place inside the residence and a male victim was stabbed in the back of the head with a screwdriver,” the news release said.
“The suspects fled as police arrived at the scene,” the news release said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Stillwater Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 405-372-4171.
