(Stillwater, Okla.) — A homeless man accused of exposing his genitals in the street south of Oklahoma State University has been jailed on $10,000 bail pending an Aug. 5 court appearance.
Due to his criminal record, William Lee Lane, 31, who adamantly denied committing indecent exposure, could be incarcerated for 90 days to life if convicted of the crime after two prior felonies in Tulsa County, court records show.
Lane was arrested on June 20 in the 300 block of S. Washington by Stillwater Police Officer Roger Osiek “due to the high quality of the victims’ testimony,” according to his affidavit filed last week.
“I have requested the outdoor security footage from the blood plasma business next door. While performing a search of Lee and his belongings, I located multiple items of paraphernalia, some marijuana leaf, a lock pick and THC cartridges in a vape pen,” the officer alleged in his affidavit.
According to the state Department of Corrections, Lane had been released from prison four years ago after serving 15 months of three concurrent four-year sentences from Tulsa County for assault with a dangerous weapon, second-degree burglary, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Lane had also served about seven months of a two-year prison term for being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2017 in Tulsa County where he had also been convicted of drug possession in 2014 and 2013, DOC records show.
