Lydia Madge Shoemaker, 79 passed away December 21, 2008 at her home after a long illness. She was born October 26, 1929 to Carl and Edna Thompson. She was born, raised and lived in the Cushing area. She married Everett Shoemaker 61 years ago, working side by side in a mechanic business which later became Everett’s Auto Supply & Garage, then Green Light Auto and Parts Plus Auto Parts Store. Lydia enjoyed ceramics, she had a complete ship in the rear of the parts store. She belonged to a quilting club, traveled extensively and did crafts. She is survived by her husband, Everett, two children Alice Shenold and husband J.R., of Cushing; Bob and Pam Shoemaker of Drumright, OK.; four grandchildren Kelley Shenold currently serving in the Air force at United Arad Emirates and his wife Sheri of Cushing, OK, Justin Shenold and Kim Fultz of Stillwater, OK, Keri Thompson and husband Rico of Cushing and Kim Gaither and husband Brant of Cushing. Six great grandchildren; Gregory Shenold, Kyle -James Shenold, Tyler Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Kyla Gaither, all of Cushing and new born Iris Susanne Fultz-Shenold in Stillwater. Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lloyd Thompson, her sister Lillian Cantrell and a great granddaughter Britany Laine Shenold.

Family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing. Interment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing.
