Local Mission Date Set for August 14-15
Mark your calendars for the second annual Love Thy Neighbor kick off event August 14 6-9 pm in Drumright’s Whitlock Park. Organizer, Cynthia Bassham, said the committee has been working for several months organizing this year’s event “which will be another outstanding evening community event.” Once again, Love thy Neighbor is sponsored by Drumright churches and area businesses. Love thy Neighbor, is a two day event focusing on spreading God’s love to everyone in the community. The Friday night kick off in Whitlock Park features food, drinks, snacks as well as activities and entertainment all provided (free of charge) cooperatively by area churches. During the Saturday event “we ask people and businesses to offer a service, free of charge to someone in need” said Bassham. “I would like to challenge everyone to do a random act of kindness in the neighborhood around you.” If you or your church would like to participate in this year’s Love thy Neighbor event, or make a donation please call Cynthia Bassham at 918-223-5798.
