Lois “Blake” Reedy age 80 a Cushing resident departed from this life on Thursday February 20, 2014 at her son’s home in Park Hill, Ok.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing,Ok with Brother Randall Wright and Brother Brien Gladden officiating.
Interment will be at the Parkland Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
She was born Lois Marie Thompson on February 17, 1934 to Alvy Thompson and Ellen Whitham Thompson south of Perkins, Ok. She lived her first 13 years in the Agra-Parkland area, then moved with her family to Tulare, California. Lois was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in April 1948. While living in California she met and married James Wesley “Jim” Blake. They had their first two children, Eddie and Mike there. In November 1953, they moved to Cushing, Ok to take care of Jim’s elderly parents. They then had two more children, Virgil and Brenda.
In November of 2004 Jim died and four years later, in February 2008 Lois married Gerald Reedy from Parkland, Ok. They had four wonderful years together and split their time living at both their homes.
Lois enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans and baby quilts for her family. She spent many years camping and fishing with her husband Jim. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved all her church family and friends at Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her two husband, her parents, her in-laws James Wesley Blake Senior and Maude Davis Blake, two brothers: Walter and Lee Thompson, three sisters: Leota Wright, Lovie Toles and Nellie Stevens, two sons: Eddie and Mike Blake, three grandsons: Eric Blake and Bradley and Dalton Williams.
Survivors are her son Virgil Blake and wife Ramona of Park Hill, Ok, daughter Brenda Williams of Cushing, daughter-in-laws Kathy Blake of Cushing and Brenda Kelly and her husband Chuck of Agra. Brothers Harley Thompson of Cushing, Jack Thompson of Dublin, Tx and Carl Thompson of Agra. Grandchildren Kala Stilwell and husband Scott of Noble, Darrell Blake and wife Alisha of Welling, Ok., Jeremy Williams and wife Michelle of Coweta, Alisa Turner and husband
Brad of Cushing, Valerie Williams and husband Jamie of Chandler, Amber Vanderslice and husband Jarod of Sapulpa, and Wesley Blake and wife Megan of Sapulpa and 14 Great Grandchildren with 2 more due around March.
