(Cushing)- Missionary work is expensive. Perhaps not the work itself, but just getting to the destination and having all the funds needed to carry out the missionary work can take a lot of money. The Smith family is planning a missionary trip to Kyrgyzstan, and is trying to raise $30,000 to make the trip. On Thursday afternoon, 12 year old Matthew Porter was doing his part to help with a lemonade stand in front of his mother’s store in downtown Cushing. (Wholefoods). In keeping with the store’s mission, Matthew served up lemonade made with lemon juice, raw sugar and stevia sweetener. When this photo was taken, he had raised about $25.00.
