Russell Moyer (also known as Cushing’s “Smith-Barney guy”) recently set a course record at the Seminole Golf Course. Moyer participated in the annual Boom Day Tournament held Sunday, June 29 in his hometown of Seminole. Moyer shot a 61 beating the course record of 63. Seminole’s golf course is a par 71.
Moyer, who began playing golf at age five, said, “This was a special accomplishment to me. Not only did I beat their record I beat my own personal best of 63.”
Evidently Moyer was on top of his game that day, not missing a single putt within 15 feet – making 22 putts in 18 holes. Total he shot 10 under par and took the win by 11 strokes – shooting four under par on the front and six under on the back.
Moyer is married to Chandra (who is also from Seminole) and they have two sons: Will, age six and Sam who is 18 months.
Congratulations!
