Lloyd Ray Stollings, retired from the Oklahoma State University Vet Clinic, passed away early Thursday morning, Nov. 19, 2009 at the age of 79 years.

    The son of the late Porter A. Stollings and Lurline Lozier Stollings, Lloyd was born on April 10, 1930 in Ripley, OK and was reared and educated in Ripley, graduating from Ripley High School.

    He later entered the United States Army and following his honorable discharge he started to work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas.  For several years he had worked for the O.S.U. Vet Clinic prior to his retirement.

    He was united in marriage to Margaret Wilson Kitchel on October 27, 2006 and she survived him of the home.

    Lloyd was a member of the American Legion and he really enjoyed decorating the graves on Memorial Weekend, and had made many presentations to various schools on the true meaning of the flag.  He enjoyed politics, talking to people and spending time with his family and friends.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma; a daughter Jane; two sisters, Vera Raper and Ruby Nerney and one brother Porter A. Stollings, Jr.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; two sisters, Millie Rose Pace and her husband Ernest of Ripley, OK and Joyce Schroeder of Derby, KS; two grandchildren, Valerie and Chris; 2 great-grandchildren, numerous loving nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    Graveside services will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 2 P.M. in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Ripley with Reverend Larry Eslinger officiating.
