NASHVILLE, TN (June 16, 2015) – Country band, LiveWire, won “New Duo/Group/Band of the Year” at the 2015 Texas Regional Radio Music Awards show, which was held at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, OK, on Saturday, July 11th.
“Winning this award is huge for us,” states band founder, lead guitarist and harmony vocalist, Bobby DeGonia. “We have worked for years refining our touring act and releasing music to radio. This is a real validation that we are breaking through.”
Prior to their win, LiveWire demonstrated their claim to the title by bringing the crowd of industry professionals and fans to their feet with an electric performance of their breakthrough 2014 Way Out West Records’ hit, “Drivin’ You Outta My Mind.”
LiveWire’s latest single, “Quit You,” dominated the Top 10 of Texas Regional Radio Report for five consecutive weeks, and was Top 15 on the Texas Music Chart for six weeks.
Their success at radio is helping to grow LiveWire’s busy touring schedule including a well-received featured guest slot at the OilPatch Festival in Drumright, OK, on July 4 where they opened for Reckless Kelly. The band is presently preparing for their first international performance at the Festival Country Rendez-Vous in Craponne-Sur-Arzon, France on July 24, where they will share the bill with Country star, Craig Morgan and Texas Country veterans, Micky & The Motorcars.
LiveWire features lead singer/acoustic guitarist, Andy Eutsler; lead guitarist/harmony vocalist, DeGonia; fiddle/harmony vocalist, Cory Shultz; drummer, Brad Allen and bassist, Ryan Allen. They are joined in the studio and onstage by pedal steel guitarist, Scott Kwapiszeski.
