The lions are now 5-0 in district and 8-0 overall and all the numbers look GREAT on paper. You can sum up the Chandler Lions High School Football team this year with one word… undefeated.

With the lions averaging 43 points a game on offense and defense – not letting up more than 16 points, they bombarded their way to the number two spot in the rankings and definitely aren’t done yet. Chandler hosted Morris last Friday in a spectacle of heart, hard work and talent.

First series, Chandler received the ball and drove up the field from the 46 after Hernandez returned the ball from the 22. Major was first in the in zone with a 6 yard punch in just minutes into the first quarter – and the ball kept rolling when the defense hit the field.

Casey Barrier intercepted a pass at the 35 and ran 15 yards until they could get him down, which set up Jack Gray to run in a 24 yard touchdown keeper. Gage smith caught a 49 yard touchdown pass the series after which made it 21 – 0 start of the 2nd quarter.

Lion’s defense snagged a fumble and ran it in for 6 just before halftime.

Justin Gillette caught a 25 yard touchdown pass to start the third after the Lion’s forced Morris to punt. Davin Perkins also broke for a 44 yard touchdown run late in the 3rd quarter.

Chandler scored on offense, defense twice and special teams. All this compelled coach to switch in some underclassmen for his starting lineup in the late third and 4th quarter. That included junior Brandon Cummings taking snaps in the quarterback position most of the third and all of the fourth quarter.

Final score 52-6 Chandler.
