(Cushing, Okla.) Russ Thurman, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:23 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by requests for prayers, and the prayer with Gerald Jolley.
Next on the agenda, the Lions Club Golf Tournament (4 Person Open Scramble) slated for Saturday, May 21st (2016). Sponsorship’s for the teams are $100 per team. If you are interested please contact Lion Jolley at 918-225-0660 to sponsor a team.
White Cane begins in March (2016) and finishes up in April (2016). Money that is collected from this fund raising event will go to support programs and services for people who are blind, visually impaired, or in need of sight conservation.
Lion Tom Cummings, was busy getting ready to screen the eyes of children this afternoon, Tuesday, March 15th (2016) at the Meadows of Hope (Perkins, Oklahoma).
Lions Club celebrates its 95th anniversary this year, and will be receiving a proclamation from the City of Cushing within the next few weeks honoring the event.
The meeting adjourned around 12:47 (pm).
