(Nashville, Tenn.) (June 3, 2013)  – Legendary Oklahoma entertainer Roy Clark is scheduled to be the musical headliner at the “Summer OilPatch Festival” at the Sellers Ranch in Drumright, Oklahoma, on Thursday, July 4, 2013.  Gates open at 11:00 a.m., and music begins at 11:30. Admission is free to the public and lawn chairs are welcome.  The “Summer OilPatch Festival” is co-sponsored by Keystone Gas Corporation, Pacer Energy Marketing, Nichols Brothers and

Boulder Creek Guitars.

“Bring the family and come help us celebrate America’s birthday!” says Rick Sellers, President of Keystone Gas and event organizer.

The family-friendly annual day-long concert and lifestyle event will also feature a lineup of popular national and regional recording artists including Country band LiveWire, Country/Americana singer/songwriter Shawna Russell, “Red Dirt”/Americana music acts the Red Dirt Rangers, Bo Phillips, Rick Reiley and the Tuesday Night Music Club, and others.

In the wake of devastating tornadoes that have caused enormous damage across Oklahoma recently, the American Red Cross will be on-site at the entry gate accepting blood and monetary donations to benefit storm victims.  The organization will also receive proceeds from various fundraising activities held throughout the day including an auction of two acoustic Boulder Creek Guitars signed by Clark and the other performers.

The “Summer OilPatch Festival” is one of Oklahoma’s largest and most diverse Independence Day events.  Past musical headliners have included Country star Kix Brooks (formerly of Brooks & Dunn), Pop/Country icon B.J. Thomas, Classic Rockers Head East and award-winning Country vocal band, Ricochet.  In addition to the music, the unique entertainment experience includes a special children’s fair area, classic cars and motorcycles and a variety of entertainers including clowns, stilt walkers, skydivers and jugglers, plus helicopter landings and a huge fireworks display.  A wide variety of food is also featured.  Last year’s star performer Brooks raved about the food offered at the concert in a post-event story in Billboard magazine when he stated: “Can you imagine?  They had cookers everywhere you looked, and it was as good of a brisket as I think I’ve ever eaten in my whole life.”  Read more of what he had to say click here

This year, Roy Clark will bring his trademark smile, easygoing vocal style, guitar wizardry, multi-instrumental abilities and comedic talents to the OilPatch stage.  A resident of nearby Tulsa, Okla., Clark recently celebrated his eightieth birthday.  Since the beginning of his prolific career, the beloved entertainer and co-star of the long-running television show “Hee Haw” has amassed seven CMA Awards, seven ACM Awards and a GRAMMY® Award for “Best Country Instrumental Performance” for “Alabama Jubilee.”   Clark also pioneered the transformation of Branson, Mo. into a world-renowned live country music hot spot.  In addition, Clark is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has shared the stage with legends such as Hank Williams and Grandpa Jones.  In 2009, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum.  Charting eight Top-10 hits and 23 Top-40’s, Clark has claimed his own Country music legacy with songs including “Yesterday, When I Was Young,” “I Never Picked Cotton,” and “Thank God And Greyhound You’re Gone.”  Clark has endeared himself to generations – and attendees can expect a show that will appeal to fans of all ages.

The Summer OilPatch Festival also provides a platform for home grown recording artists and performers.  Okemah, Oklahoma, singer/songwriter Shawna Russell who has two critically acclaimed albums and multiple hit radio singles to her credit, returns for her sixth consecutive event.  Country band LiveWire will perform its third festival appearance on the heels of the release of its debut album LIVIN,’ which has won the Joplin, Mo. sextet rave reviews from all corners of the music world.  The Red Dirt Rangers from Stillwater, Okla. will grace the OilPatch stage for a second time.  Since forming in the late-80’s, the group has pioneered a growing musical genre called “Red Dirt” and recently released the album LONE CHIMNEY, co-produced by Steve Ripley of The Tractors and Tulsa’s Church Studio fame.  Longtime festival favorite Bo Phillips will return.  Also a member of the vibrant Stillwater “Red Dirt” music scene, Phillips recently placed his single “Red Dirt Girl” at #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report.  Rick Reiley, a popular singer/songwriter from nearby Cushing, will bring his Tuesday Night Music Club to open the main stage – and he will also host a tent stage to showcase other local Oklahoma talents throughout the day.
