The roper with the winning average in the Steer Roping competition at the 2008 PRCA Cushing Community Rodeo was Lawson Flemon of Chilton, Texas.
Flemon not only won the competition, but was presented a hand-carved rope can made by saddlemaker, JD Tarlton of Tryon.
Tarlton and Cushing Community Rodeo members Pat O’Kelley and Jim Lauerman presented the special prize to Flemon following the rodeo held July 11 & 12 at the Cushing rodeo grounds.
